Video Editor (Freelance/Contract)


Vidico are expanding and we are currently accepting expressions of interest (EOI) for the role of Video Editor! There are multiple freelance and contract opportunities available.

If you’re a Video Editor based in Sydney or New South Wales, who brings their creative A-game to every cut; someone who loves crafting a story and is passionate about film theory and editing techniques — this is the role for you!

You will be teaming up with with a talented group of post-production wizards; editors, designers and animators, all while working with some of the best brands around.

Please note that this role will be entirely remote.

What will I work on?

If you were at Vidico last month, you would be…

  • Editing & collaborating: Crafting the edit according to the brief, and flexing every tool in your creative skillset to bring the story to life.
  • Working to the storyboard and revision requests; to ensure that the deliverables match the client’s expectations.
  • Working with the post-production team; ensuring all projects are delivered on schedule and required amendments are made on time.
  • Coordinating with animators; combining live-action and animation, putting everything into motion inside Adobe After Effects and to export the assets to meet the clients deliverable requirements.
  • Idea generation in post-production meetings; you’d be presenting your creative ideas with the post-production team.
  • Timeline Management: Ensuring project delivery time is maintained and kept on track.


Skills and Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in a multimedia editing role.
  • A genuine interest and appreciation for storytelling, as this is at the heart of what Vidico brings to the commercial content space.
  • Attention to detail and consistency in deliverables.
  • Ability to manage priorities under pressure.
  • Highly organised and process driven.
  • Confident in setting and managing client expectations.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
  • Figma proficiency is preferred but not essential.
