We’re still (safely) producing video as usual during COVID‑19.

Product Designer (Full-Time)

If you are a UX/UI Designer or Product Designer that is creative, analytical, and gets genuine joy out of designing excellent digital products — this is the role for you.

This role can be entirely remote and open to applicants across Australia.

Vidico is looking for a well-rounded UX/UI Designer or Product Designer who will support our management and development teams. In short, you will explore, design, prototype, test and iterate on solutions for:

  • Vidico: where our clients can order, brief, track and manage their video projects.
  • Vidi: where our users can shoot, edit and share video via our iOS app.

We’re looking for someone truly passionate about building delightful, accessible UI for scale whilst also having the strength and curiosity to define the complete experience as our clients and users onboard, navigate and complete key tasks within the product.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at each stage of the design process but always focus on the needs of the customer.

You’ll work closely with our founders and development squad where you’ll be able to use both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions. You’ll also appreciate and champion re-usable components and design systems as part of your workflow.

Where have I heard of Vidico?

We are a full-service video-production agency that’s on the rise.

  • We work with some of the coolest companies in the world: Square, Spotify, Uber, Airtable, Amazon, Bailey Nelson, Koala, The Oodie and Temple & Webster to name a few.
  • There’s a 99% likelihood you’ve seen (and chuckled at) our ads on Youtube/TV in Australia.
  • Our television campaigns across Australia and the U.S. have generated over 1.3 billion views.
  • In our entire history of operation, we’ve never had anything other than a five-star rating across all platforms.
  • In the last year, Vidico’s team has doubled in size and with that so has the opportunity for growth, learning and development.

What will I work on?

If you were at Vidico last week, you would be assisting with…

  • Research/Planning/Sketching: You’ll bring a researched set of perspectives to each project foundation, collaborating with other designers and teams to flesh out user journeys and flows, from low-fidelity sketches and maps to production-ready UI using design system components you’ll help shape.
  • Designing: Using Figma, you’ll design both the UX and UI of our products, from research, sketches and prototypes, through to production-ready UI.
  • Prototyping: You’ll articulate your vision for user flows via clear prototyping, allowing the developers to ensure that product integrity is maintained.
  • Developer Feedback: Own development feedback cycles, to ensure each product or release is top-notch.
  • Iterating on Designs via User Feedback/Data: You’ll view, interpret and take action on user data, that will allow informed decisions on product improvement over time.
  • Innovating in Line with Future Product Vision: Understand the core product design process and navigate the needs of future product vision; with the ability to design realistic solutions that could be implemented in existing product/tech stack.

What you will bring:

  • Ownership of design vision for sophisticated and evolving mobile and web applications.
  • Ability to take complex business requirements and translating those into clear, simple solutions.
  • You work well in a team and have a track record of shipping features, enhancements, or projects that you’re proud of.
  • You’re amazing in Figma and strive to deliver beautiful, systematic and structured design work.
  • Ability to collaborate with other designers and teams to flesh out user journeys and flows, from low-fidelity sketches and maps to production-ready UI using design system components you’ll help shape.
  • Ability to balance technical feasibility with user needs and everything in between.
  • A strong desire to solve usability related challenges and find the most innovative solution to a problem.
  • You can produce mobile-first concepts, prototypes and flows at various levels of fidelity.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where you have to balance velocity of decision making, quality and having a MVP mindset.
  • You have a minimum of 5-years of relevant experience in working with agile development teams.
  • Ideally a Bachelors or Masters degree in a design-related discipline, but this is not a firm prerequisite.
  • Bonus points if you have experience in: Video, or Design Systems/Reusable Components.

Values you’ll have:

  • While details are important, you can also think from a high-level/big-picture.
  • You get excited by challenges, and have a genuine love for solving problems.
  • You like having flexibility in your scope of projects. At Vidico, there are new things to work on every day. As such it’s likely that you’ll often be working across the board on new and exciting projects.

This role will work alongside a team of 3-4 on a daily basis; our team-vibe is very genuine, helpful and positive!
