Shift is a video collaboration platform for review and approval workflows with a lightweight cloud DAM. Shift Go is the companion app on mobile and tablet, for review and approval on the go.

Our script framework first focused on the core problems:

– Managing a video project can mean digging in your inbox for endless email threads, and managing passwords to a dozen different file-sharing platforms.
– You’re not always at your computer when you receive a file or need to review something.
– When you’re working tight timelines, you need real-time updates on the latest comments and approvals.

We then focused on three product benefits (we’ll tend to limit benefits or features to three per 60-seconds of video content):

1) Staying in the loop: Real-time notifications so you get real-time updates with every new file, comment, and approval.

2) Give good notes on the go: time-coded commenting and on-screen drawing at your fingertips.

3) Get your work done faster: Synced between desktop, browser, and mobile, you’ll never miss the latest.

We wanted to showcase the app in the best possible environment. In order for the viewer to really hone in on the content of the app, we used abstract backgrounds, and darkened the rest of the video 30% in order to make the content of the screen really ‘pop’.

The movements were all created using Adobe Aftereffects, where we used global ease settings to create soft landing and exits for all typography and product rotations.

The video itself was also re-purposed into:

– 1 x 30-second version
– 3 x 10-second versions

This means that there were five versions including the main cut!
